Beaches Fall Short, 4-3, at Waimea
|
The Waimea Wind knocked off the Cozumel Beaches, 4-3, in RCL AAA action at The Wind Tunnel. Waimea pitcher and Spry, Pennsylvania, native Justin Sweat had an outstanding performance. Mark Weston locked down his 8th save. With the win, Waimea has a record of 15-21. Cozumel falls to 17-18.
The Wind got a big at-bat from shortstop William Avila. For the game, Avila went 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 15th double of the season gave Waimea a 3-2 lead.
"When you are able to locate the ball, good things are going to happen," said Sweat.
