Johnny Otteson was a major factor in the 12-1 Cozumel win over Waimea. The Beaches third baseman was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Pedro Leon, the winner, is now 3-1. He struck out 3 and walked 2 over 6.1 innings, while allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The second-place Beaches now have a win-loss record of 25-16.

Early in the game, first baseman Carl Farley had a bases-clearing double for Cozumel. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Beaches on top, 4-1.

"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Waimea manager Orlando González. "We got trounced."
