Freeze Win, 7-1, Over Amarillo

The Minneapolis Freeze got a marvelous performance from pitcher Devin Gammon. The left-hander kept the Amarillo offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 7-1 Minneapolis victory at Armadillos Park. Gammon yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 8, and struck out 2. His record improves to 5-2. With the win, Minneapolis pushed its record to 22-17.
It could have been a different outcome for Minneapolis, had it not been for Jeremy Owusu, the former first round draft pick . Owusu contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put Minneapolis up, 5-0.
Freeze manager Ben Jeffcoat raved about Gammon after the game. "I thought Devin was 'lights out.'"
