Falcons Score Late to Upend Flash, 5-3
|
The Falcons faced a stiff challenge from Fairfield pitcher Patrick Blakey, but persevered to claim a win at McClure Field. The final score was 5-3. Blakey went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Jaden Brown, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. George Thomas picked up the save for Forest Acres, his 3rd of the year.
Alex Marin went 1 for 2 with 2 walks for Forest Acres. The 25-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Owen Kay. It was his 3rd walk of the season.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Marin. "And not try to do too much."
At 22-17, the Falcons find themselves in second place in the RCL AAA Tony La Russa Division.
