The Albuquerque Cacti defeated the Billings Mustangs, 14-3, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Albuquerque was led by 18-year old first baseman Mark Ballard, who was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 7 RBI and scoring twice. With the loss, Billings drops to 11-22.

With Albuquerque leading 9-3 in the bottom of the eighth, Ballard came up to bat against Billings pitcher Jeremy Balla. Ballard hit a fastball to right for a grand slam home run. His 9th home run of the season put the Cacti on top, 13-3.

"Winning is the only objective," said Ballard after the game.
