The Calgary Hitmen got a marvelous performance from pitcher Eric Thornton. The right-hander kept the Albany offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 6-1 Calgary victory at Capital Grounds. Thornton got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 8 hits and walked 3 over 8.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. The defeat makes Albany 14-17.

Kevin Stark had a key at-bat with two out in the top of the fourth for Calgary. With the bases loaded and the Hitmen leading 3-1, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.

"Feels good to get the job done," Stark said after the game.
