The timely hitting of Jimmy Cox helped the Indianapolis Ambition down the Antioch Coal Miners, 7-5. Cox was 1 for 1 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Ambition. Indianapolis reliever Rhett Strong was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-0. Paul Cummins took the loss for Antioch. Indianapolis got a knockout punch from Jimmy Urbanski. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
