|
The Candiac Redbirds racked up a win at Municipal Stadium, bumping off the Minneapolis Freeze, 6-2. Gene Legrow, who started for Candiac, pitched effectively for his team. Candiac has 3 straight wins, Minneapolis 5 straight losses.
David Barber had a productive at-bat for the Redbirds with one out in the bottom of the first. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the first baseman reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. The at-bat was important in the Candiac win.
"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Johnny Vallance. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
