Raiders Come Back Late to Top Fireballs, 5-3
The Reno Raiders got a rain-soaked win over the Joplin Fireballs.

The performance of Paul Oulton proved critical in helping Reno beat Joplin, 5-3. The Raiders catcher was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was Jonathan Hogle. He tossed 107 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. Mike Cornwell closed the door for Reno, picking up his 5th save of the year.

The Raiders benefited from a costly error in the top of the seventh. With Jung-hoon Yoon at bat and Reno leading 2-1, the Joplin miscue allowed Reno to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.

"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Oulton said (again).

The Raiders with just their 9th win in 29 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
