LaGrave Field was the site of quite a ballgame.

The Fort Worth Cats defeated the Fairfield Flash, 9-7, in 13 innings. Doing his part was third baseman Dave Allred, who was 2-3 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Mark Walsh earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the 13th. With Fort Worth trailing 7-6, Allred jumped on a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Scott White and hit a 3-run home run to right-center. With one swing, the Cats had a walk-off win.

"We'll build on this win," said Allred.

Fairfield is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.
