Hitmen Get 9-7 Win Versus Albuquerque
|
The Albuquerque Cacti got a superb performance from first baseman Elijah Brown, but the Calgary Hitmen still won the game, 9-7. Brown was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The save went to Jonathan Parker, his 7th this season. Calgary is now 17-18. Albuquerque is 20-15.
Andre Dawson Jr. gave Calgary a good at-bat in the bottom of the first inning. With the bases loaded, he got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run to help send Calgary to the win.
Dawson Jr. told the Calgary Citizen: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
