Hens Suffer 1-0 Setback
|
Memphis Privateers starter Kiyonobu Yamasaki Jr. turned in a sterling performance against the Hendersonville Hens, leading his team to a slim, 1-0 win. Yamasaki Jr. yielded no runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-2. The win puts Memphis at 17-12.
Memphis took the lead, 1-0, on Greg Walden's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Hendersonville pitcher Khalil Haywood in the bottom of the eighth.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Yamasaki Jr. said.
