The Fairfield Flash defeated the Waimea Wind, 8-7, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Fairfield was led by 23-year old right fielder Bill Matthews, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Bryan Stanford earned the save for Fairfield. Fairfield goes to 21-8.

Matthews contributed in the bottom of the third. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Fairfield get the win.
