Bison Squelch Warriors Offense in Shutout Win
|
Starting pitcher Israel Cancel gave the Bighorn Bison a rock-solid effort. The Soyapango, El Salvador native helped his team defeat the Walnut Creek Warriors, 3-0, at Castlerock Field. The loss drops Walnut Creek to 6-12.
Bighorn used the hitting of Malcolm Johnson to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bison on top, 1-0. For the game, Johnson had 1 home run and 2 singles in 3 at-bats.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Ruben Torres. "That was the problem."
