Racers Drop to .500 After 5-1 Loss to Swallowtails
Steve Stevens, who is tied for 6th in the RAAA in innings pitched with 45.1, never let the Racers get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Swallowtails to a win, 5-1. Stevens picked up the win for State College, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. The loss drops Bowling Green to 16-16.

The Swallowtails got a big at-bat from center fielder David Ballard. For the game, Ballard went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave State College a 1-0 lead.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Stevens.
