Beaches Rack Up 7-4 Win Versus Albuquerque

At Bar Habor Stadium, the Albuquerque Cacti and Cozumel Beaches were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Cozumel Beaches knocked off the Albuquerque Cacti, 7-4, at Bar Habor Stadium. Jim Smart was a big reason Cozumel won. The center fielder was 2 for 2 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. Steve Lewis was the winner. Over 7 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 7 hits, with 5 walks and 5 strikeouts.
Smart had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count fastball from Corey Moore, he banged a 2-run double to right-center, giving the Beaches a 4-3 lead. It was the 8th double of the year for Smart.
"This was a total team effort," said Smart.
Albuquerque, with the loss, is 18-9.
