Hens Winners, 5-2, at Privateers Grounds
|
Hendersonville Hens left-hander Brad Helmick pitched a good game against the Memphis Privateers at Privateers Grounds, leading his team to victory, 5-2. The winner was Helmick. He threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Nelson Amador. Getting the save was Jared Vanderford, his 7th.
Hendersonville used a clutch at-bat from Matt Haglund to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Hens ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Brad did what Brad does," said Hendersonville manager Tae-geun Lee.
At 18-8, the Hens have played well so far.
