Shumard Powers Armadillos Offense
Behind the hitting of Kevin Shumard, the Amarillo Armadillos stopped the Billings Mustangs, 7-4. Shumard hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Armadillos. Steve Brignola was credited with the save for Amarillo, his 1st of the season. The loss puts Billings at 8-17.

John Tarr, who leads the TAAA in bases on balls with 26, took Billings hurler Jeremy Balla deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 3-run home run put the Armadillos on top, 7-4. In all, Tarr had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.

"Not the sexiest win," said Armadillos manager Tyler Bulman, "but I'll take it."
