The Albany Firebirds defeated the Minneapolis Freeze, 8-6, at Capital Grounds. Albany was led by 22-year old first baseman Mike Cole, who went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The loss drops the Freeze to 14-10.

Albany went up, 7-6, on Joe Douglas's 1st double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Douglas hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Minneapolis pitcher Devin Gammon muttering to himself.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Cole said.
