Another day, another victory for the red-hot Reno Raiders.

The Reno Raiders got great pitching from 26-year old right-handed pitcher John Tait, allowing them to bump off the Calgary Kodiaks, 4-1. Tait yielded 1 run over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-0.

The Raiders got a big at-bat from center fielder Troy Tobias. For the game, Tobias was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Reno a 2-1 lead.

"That was a really good outing by John," said Reno manager Maziba Ewansiha.

Despite the defeat, Calgary still has a fine 15-8 record.
