Armadillos Slip Past Calgary, 8-7
The Amarillo Armadillos outlasted Dan Strachan and the Calgary Kodiaks, 8-7. Strachan was impressive in the loss. The Calgary pitcher threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win went to Jonathan Huitt in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Arturo Cendejas took the loss. The win leaves Amarillo with a record of 11-12.

Amarillo used the timely hitting of Ramon Escalera to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Armadillos on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Escalera told reporters after the game: "This one was touch and go, but we were able to put it in the win column."
