Thunder Bay shortstop Angel Escalera was sensational. He went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Indian Wells beat the Black Bears, 10-9. Escalera was named the player of the game despite the loss. Indian Wells reliever Luis Salcido picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Rafael Padilla shouldered the loss. Indian Wells is now 12-12.

Indian Wells used the timely hitting of Jesus Martinez to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Aeropostales ahead, 9-7. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

In postgame comments to the Indian Wells Bulletin, Martinez said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
