Asheville pitcher Victor Lara had a large part in his team beating the Dallas Texans, 3-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Dallas drops to 11-5.

Mike Flemming drove in one run for Asheville. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jeff Dempsey. It was his 13th RBI of the season.

"Victor did a heck of a job," said Asheville manager Baldassario Ardinghi.
