The Cowboys grabbed a win, 4-2, at Edgbaston, overcoming a fine effort from Thunder Bay pitcher Jamie Hansen. Hansen went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Roberto Mendez claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 3-0. Chad Allred earned the save for Calgary, his 3rd of the year.

Chris Cassell came through with a big-time hit for Calgary. The center fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Cassell said after the game.

The Black Bears drop to 7-13, as their stumbling start to the 2063 season continues.
