Marshals Come Back Late to Top Raiders
|
Fans who gathered at House of Pain saw a good contest between the San Jose Marshals and Reno Raiders.
The San Jose Marshals saddled the Reno Raiders with a loss at House of Pain. The final score was 5-3. Rob Wiegand, named player of the game, was 2 for 4, including 1 single and 1 home run. The San Jose catcher scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Reliever Zai-shuo Qu picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Matt Stevenson took the loss. Reagan Juneau picked up the save, his 9th.
San Jose used the clutch hitting of Bill Leal to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Marshals the lead, 5-3. For the game, Leal had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Leal told the San Jose Today.
The Marshals, now 14-7, have played some good baseball in the early going.
