In a low-scoring tilt between the Calgary Hitmen and the Forest Acres Falcons, Clive Macaulay was the difference-maker. The Calgary left-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-1 win. Macaulay, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 2 walks. Cesar Reyes closed it out for his 2nd save.
Calgary relied on the bat of Aaron Hoffmann to get the win. The second baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hitmen ahead, 3-1. For the game, Hoffmann had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We need to keep playing good baseball," Macaulay told the Calgary Citizen.
The Falcons fall to 9-10 and continue their wobbly start to the 2044 season.
