Kodiaks Suffer 5-2 Road Loss
|
Pasadena Bumblebees starter Bill Dukes pitched his team past the Calgary Kodiaks, 5-2. Dustin Phillips earned the save for Pasadena, his 6th of the year. The win puts Pasadena at 12-7.
Jeremy Nielson had a big 2-run double for the Bumblebees in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Pasadena leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Roberto Orellana and swatted a double to right. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bumblebees ahead, 4-1.
"Bill was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Pasadena manager David Williams.
