Albuquerque got a terrific performance from pitcher Ozzie Pedro, but it wasn't enough to beat the Thunder Bay Black Bears. Thunder Bay won the Albuquerque Sports Stadium contest, 6-4. Pedro threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The win gives the Black Bears a record of 13-7.

Thunder Bay used the timely hitting of Mike Daniel to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Black Bears on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Daniel. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
