Fort Worth played host to State College at LaGrave Field.

Andy Stearman powered the Fort Worth Cats to a win over the State College Swallowtails. The final score was 12-6. The Fort Worth second baseman, who is tied for 5th in the RAAA in runs scored with 14, was phenomenal. He stroked 4 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 3 doubles. Jim Tanner, the winning pitcher, is now 2-1. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 6 runs on 13 hits, while fanning 7 and walking 1. Jonathan Ortiz earned the save, his 1st, for the Cats.

Fort Worth got a big at-bat from Azua, Dominican Republic native Alfonso Vasquez, who in the bottom of the second hit a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Cats ahead, 6-0.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Vasquez told the Fort Worth Observer.

The Swallowtails fall to 6-9 and continue their lackluster start to the 2062 season.
