Late Rally by Firebirds Locks Up 4-3 Win
The Albany Firebirds picked up a win at Capital Grounds, knocking off the Calgary Kodiaks, 4-3. Starting pitcher Ramon Campos played a key role in the triumph. Albany reliever Mark Buchholz picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Jesus Cervantes absorbed the loss. Israel Sanchez zipped up his 4th save.

Had Jason Engel not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Engel hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Firebirds.

"They were just a little bit better than us," Calgary manager Stanley Harvey said.

The Firebirds, with just their 4th win in 14 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
