The Joplin Fireballs picked up a win at The Firepit, taking down the Fairfield Flash, 5-2. Starting pitcher Evan Hamilton was a big reason why. Hamilton picked up the win for Joplin, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Matt O'Connor earned save number 2 this season.

Jon Lopez went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Joplin. The 22-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ricky Mora. It was his 2nd walk of the season.

"I'm happy we won," said Hamilton. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
