Redbirds Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Mustangs
|
Eric DeLancey made an impact in the 6-3 Candiac win over Billings. DeLancey, who is tied for 10th in the TAAA in hits with 21, went 2 for 3 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Jorge Gamboa, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held the Mustangs to 3 earned runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The Mustangs fall to 6-10 and continue to sputter in the early going.
An impactful at-bat came in the top of the eighth inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the batter, Gordon McLean, hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 4-3, Candiac, and helped them go on to win.
McLean told a Candiac Daily reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
