Raiders Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
Getting a good performance from third baseman Bobby Serrato, the Reno Raiders defeated the Candiac Redbirds, 9-5. Serrato was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and 2 walks for the Raiders. The win was Travis Zastrow's in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Octavio Arce took the loss for Candiac. Kai-ge Ching picked up the save, his 1st.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Lou McCluskie, who is tied for 7th in the TAAA in doubles with 5, hit a single. The Raiders went on to win.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Serrato said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
Reno, now 5-10, is off to a slow start.
