Win Makes Bowling Green 8-7

The Bowling Green Racers overcame a pretty good performance by Fairfield center fielder Matt Gibson, beating the Flash, 6-3, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Gibson went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2. Jacob Spitler earned his 5th save, after closing out the game. So far, the 2064 season has been disappointing for Fairfield, now 6-9.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Brendan Kuchta? The Bowling Green center fielder had a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put the Racers on top, 1-0. For the game, Kuchta had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Said Bowling Green manager Ron Jeremy: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
