Canadians Clip Cacti, 7-6
|
The first-place Vancouver Canadians welcomed Albuquerque to Stanley Park.
The Vancouver Canadians downed the Albuquerque Cacti, 7-6, at Stanley Park. The Canadians were led by Luke Butner, who captured player of the game honors. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Canadians, now 10-3, have been on fire in the early going.
Butner came through for the Canadians in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Vancouver trailing 5-2, the shortstop hit a grand slam. It made the score 6-5, Vancouver.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Vancouver manager José Parra.
