Maple got a terrific game from designated hitter Earl Bitner. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Walnut Creek, 4-3, in 10 innings. Bitner hit 2 home runs. The Warriors keep rolling, raising their record to 15-2.
Walnut Creek needed the clutch hitting of Kevin McArdle to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Warriors on top, 4-2. For the game, McArdle had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
