Eddie Somers was a vital contributor to the 10-7 Cozumel victory over Fairfield. The Beaches first baseman went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Brandon Hubacek earned save number 4 this season. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Beaches hope to make a postseason run.

With one out in the top of the seventh, Jason Bankhead had a game-changing hit. The Beaches shortstop slammed a 2-run single off Josh Sills, making the score 8-5, Cozumel.

"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Somers told the Cozumel Chronicle.
