The Calgary Kodiaks defeated the Albany Firebirds, 13-5, at Capital Grounds. Calgary was led by 19-year old left fielder Mark Faught, who went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. Calgary is now 7-2.

Jens van den Heuvel had a big 3-run home run for the Kodiaks in the top of the first inning. With Calgary leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old left-handed pitcher Brady Metro and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Kodiaks on top, 5-0.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Calgary manager Naofumi Tanaka.
