Stiff Goes Off, But Argonauts Win
|
The Calgary Kodiaks got a superb performance from second baseman Travis Stiff, but the Astoria Argonauts still won the game, 7-6. Stiff hit 3 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring three times. Josh Hall was the winner. He's now 2-1. The loser was Wayne Balaski. Astoria, with the win, is 6-3.
Astoria used a clutch at-bat from Cyril Berger to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Argonauts ahead, 7-4. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Calgary manager Stanley Harvey.
