Kang Slugs Swallowtails to 7-5 Win
The State College Swallowtails took on the Calgary Cowboys at Stars Field.

Young-hoon Kang was a major contributor to the 7-5 State College win over Calgary. The Swallowtails right fielder hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Eli Carpenter, the winner, is now 1-1. He struck out 4 and walked 3 over 7.1 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 8 hits.

Had Paul Matherne not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Matherne hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Swallowtails.

Kang told a State College Observer reporter that the win made him feel "upbeat about our team."

The loss makes Calgary 1-5.
