Death Stars Stick Redbirds with 5-2 Loss
The Detroit Death Stars defeated the Candiac Redbirds, 5-2, at Municipal Stadium. Detroit center fielder Howard Milward was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Detroit, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.

Milward had a game-changing double in the top of the seventh. On a first pitch fastball from Gene Legrow, he banged a run-scoring double to center, giving the Death Stars a 3-2 lead. It was the 2nd double of the year for Milward.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Milward told reporters after the game.
