Freeze Clip Raiders in Tight Contest
Aaron Boomgarden did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Reno Raiders from losing, 6-5, to the Minneapolis Freeze at House of Pain. Boomgarden was 2-5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Minneapolis reliever Julio Arreola got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Travis Zastrow was tagged with the loss. With the loss, Reno drops to 1-5.

The Freeze got an important contribution from pinch hitter Chris Saipe, who in the top of the ninth punched a 1-0 fastball into right for a solo home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Freeze ahead, 6-5.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Saipe told the Minneapolis Times.
