The 3-hit performance of Fred Mitchell helped the Calgary Kodiaks beat the Minneapolis Freeze, 7-2. The win leaves Calgary with a record of 3-2.

Calgary used the timely hitting of Tom Pottle to capture the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Kodiaks on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Mitchell.
