The Fairfield Flash met little resistance from the Bowling Green Racers, beating them, 14-2, at Top of the Hill. Scott Kirkpatrick led the way. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for Fairfield. Fairfield reliever Bryan Stanford picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Fairfield used a clutch at-bat from Trevor Kitchens to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Flash ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
