Spirited fans greeted the Thunder Bay Black Bears for their clash with the Fairfield Flash.

Benefiting from Matt Gibson's productive game, the Fairfield Flash downed the Thunder Bay Black Bears, 10-4. Gibson was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Flash. Fairfield reliever Ray Lovelace picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mike Perschau absorbed the loss.

Fairfield used the clutch hitting of John Myers to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Flash the lead, 6-4. For the game, Myers had 2 singles and 1 double in 5 at-bats.

"We came out aggressive," said Flash manager Edward Batkin. "We came out swinging the bats."

With the loss, Thunder Bay falls to 1-1.
