Betts Helps Sasquatch Defeat Pilots, 6-4
|
The 6-4 Seattle win over Jacksonville was due largely to Corbin Betts. The Sasquatch third baseman went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Picking up the win was Juan Macias. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 1. Nate Wesson earned the save for Seattle, his 24th of the year.
Seattle won the game in part because of Steve Scott. The designated hitter ripped a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Sasquatch ahead, 3-0. For the game, Scott had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Betts told the Seattle Herald.
The last-place Sasquatch improved to 54-85.
