The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

The Chicago Eclipse topped the El Paso Mavericks, 3-1, in Thurman Munson League action at Millennium Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Chicago pitcher Brendan Tucker. In 7 innings, Tucker surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Joe Umlah nailed down his 26th save.

Chicago took a 3-1 lead on Jordan Colmenares's 36th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Colmenares hit in the bottom of the seventh, left El Paso pitcher Eric Hooks visibly frustrated.

"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Chicago manager Carlos Esparza. "That's what Brendan is right now."
