The Montreal Mounties could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Garrett Frankel into a win. Instead, the West Island Jazz prevailed, 9-7, in 11 innings. Frankel threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. Reliever Brian Sorensen picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Eric Wilkinson, who is tied for 3rd in the RCL in holds with 13, took the loss. The Jazz are now 87-75.

West Island got a knockout punch from Jake Haight. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Baseball is a wild game -- a crazy game, sometimes," said Haight.
