Pioneers left fielder Luis Gallardo put his stamp on his team's 8-5 win over the Walnut Creek Warriors. Gallardo went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a triple, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for Vancouver in the contest. Kenny Poor notched his 2nd save of the season. Vancouver sits in second place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division at 74-65.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when second baseman Justin Dixon, who finished 3rd in the TML in OPS with .997 last year, hit a triple. The Pioneers went on to win.

"We're trying to go out there and win games," Gallardo told the Vancouver Herald, "and we played pretty well tonight."
