Eureka Hornets starter Harley Lowrie turned in a top-notch performance against the Cabo San Lucas Toreros at Field de Los Layendas. The result was a win for the Hornets, 10-2. Lowrie, now 2-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The loss has the Toreros at 7-11.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the sixth, with the game tied, Ed Cormack was at the plate when Eureka scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Hornets to go in front, 3-2.

"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Cormack.
