4-2 Loss Extends Vancouver Losing Streak
|
Asheville turned a good effort from starter Jose Ayala into a win over the Vancouver Pioneers at The Still. The Moonshiners won the game, 4-2. Joey Tino picked up the save, his 4th. The slumping Pioneers have lost 6 straight.
The Moonshiners got a big at-bat from center fielder Jake Haight. For the game, Haight went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 18th home run of the season gave Asheville a 2-0 lead.
"Jose had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Asheville manager Baldassario Ardinghi.
