The Bloomington Blazers got a strong performance from pitcher Mike Hursh. Gold Key stymied the Hawaii offense en route to a solid, 5-1 win at Aloha Stadium. Hursh, the winner, moves to 11-6. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 4 walks. Jared Simms closed the game out for Bloomington, earning his 4th save.

In the bottom of the seventh, Paul Cavanaugh stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Honu were trailing 4-1, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Jared Simms made a terrific pitch and Cavanaugh grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Hawaii comeback.

The win gives Bloomington a season record of 87-51.
